Secretary-General of ASEAN, Lim Jock Hoi: ASEAN deepens cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to jointly promote peace, stability, and shared prosperity.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in 2025 will be held in Tianjin from August 31st to September 1st. This will be the fifth time China has hosted the SCO Summit, and also the largest summit since the establishment of the SCO. Over 20 foreign leaders and 10 heads of international organizations will gather along the banks of the Hai River to review the successful experiences of the SCO and map out the development blueprint for the organization. The "Shanghai Spirit," with its core values of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, respect for diverse civilizations, and seeking common development, is increasingly shining, illuminating the path to building a community of shared destiny for the SCO. Gao Jinhong pointed out that ASEAN and the SCO have signed and implemented a memorandum of understanding, and are exploring how to further deepen cooperation, especially in promoting and maintaining peace and security.
