Zhao Lezhi visits Vietnam and attends the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Zhao Leji, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, led a Chinese party and government delegation to visit Vietnam from August 31st to September 2nd. In Hanoi, he met separately with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, President of Vietnam, Tran Dai Quang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. He also held talks with Nguyen Phu Trong and attended the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. During the meeting with Nguyen Phu Trong, Zhao Leji conveyed warm greetings from General Secretary Xi Jinping and warmly congratulated Vietnam on the historic achievements of the party and country over the past 80 years. He expressed that in the new situation, China is willing to work together with Vietnam to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties, deepen exchanges of governance experience, strengthen cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative and the "Two Corridors, One Belt" strategy, tighten the friendly bonds between the two peoples, and jointly promote the socialist modernization of their respective countries and accelerate the construction of a strategic community of common destiny between China and Vietnam.
