Pakistan's Finance Minister Orangzeb visited China Industrial and Commercial Bank.

On September 1st, Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Liao Lin, met with visiting Pakistani Finance Minister Orangzeb in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on the macroeconomic situation of China and Pakistan, deepening economic and financial cooperation between the two countries. Deputy Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Zhang Weiwu, also attended the meeting. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China was the first Chinese financial institution to enter Pakistan, establishing a branch in Karachi in 2011 and having institutions in Islamabad and Lahore. In 2022, it was authorized by the People's Bank of China to serve as the Renminbi clearing bank in Pakistan, making positive contributions to high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. In the future, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China will further leverage its global layout advantages, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Pakistani Ministry of Finance and local financial industry, and inject new impetus into the development of high-quality financial services for the all-weather strategic partnership between China and Pakistan.
