The declaration of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States Council on Strengthening Digital Economy Development was released. It mentions that member states will take the following actions: strengthen cooperation in digital economy development policies, regularly hold dialogues, and explore the possibilities of establishing relevant cooperation mechanisms; continue to deepen cooperation in the following areas: develop international rules and standards for data security based on national interests of each country, develop digital infrastructure, and provide public services; promote convergence of approaches among all parties to implement cooperation projects, promote the construction and upgrading of digital public infrastructure, promote digital transformation in key economic sectors, apply advanced technological solutions, develop new business cooperation models, cultivate high-quality talents and enhance digital skills, including conducting academic exchange activities; deepen cooperation in next-generation communication technologies, build an inclusive, secure, and sustainable communication network system, promote the use of reliable data transmission technologies based on international standards, and enhance the efficiency of economic and trade cooperation among member states; strengthen smart city construction and cooperation in digital service supply; enhance exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of data privacy standards development; carry out work exchanges, academic discussions, achievement exhibitions, and roundtable dialogues in the field of digital economy, and share development experiences; mobilize the think tanks and research institutes of the SCO member states to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in the digital economy field.
