Engine shortages are dragging down production, Airbus needs to "fight hard" to achieve its annual delivery target.
According to the Financial APP of Wisdom, industry insiders and analysts stated on Monday that European aircraft manufacturer Airbus (EADSY.US) needs to deliver planes at a record pace in order to achieve its annual target. The world's largest aircraft manufacturer has set a delivery target of 820 jet aircraft for this year, a 7% increase year-on-year, but has been hit by delays in receiving engines and cabin equipment. Aircraft deliveries determine the company's revenue and cash flow generation, and also affect airlines' growth plans.
