Citibank: Uranium prices may rise to $100 per pound next year.
The Citigroup report predicts that the price of uranium may rise to $100 per pound next year. Analyst Arkady Gevorkyan stated, "Over the past five months, long-term contract prices have been trading at $80 per pound, which we believe supports our bullish outlook." In recent months, the price of uranium has risen to $73 per pound, and Citigroup believes it will reach $80 per pound in the next three months. Citigroup stated, "Potential delivery shortages from uranium producers, coupled with increasing energy demand driving nuclear capacity expansion, combine to create significant upside risks for uranium prices." Additionally, the development of small modular reactors also plays a significant role. Citigroup predicts that by 2040, these small modular reactors may account for 20% of total uranium demand.
