Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Indian Prime Minister Modi visited together the factory of semiconductor manufacturing equipment giant "Tokyo Electronics" in Taiwa-cho, Miyagi Prefecture on the 30th. This move aims to strengthen cooperation in the semiconductor field, which is valued by both countries in terms of economic security. Ishiba told the media after the visit, "I hope that the two countries will work together to enhance the resilience of the semiconductor supply chain and strengthen economic security." The factory is a development and production base for semiconductor manufacturing equipment known as "plasma etching", which is used for precision processing of film layers on semiconductor substrates. Tokyo Electronics is providing equipment to Tata Electronics, a motor giant that is building a semiconductor factory in India, and the cooperation is progressing.
