The Japanese yen rose more than 2.4% in August.

On Friday, in the late session in New York, the US dollar rose 0.07% against the Japanese Yen, closing at 147.04 Yen. It has risen by 0.06% for the week, but has fallen by 2.45% for the month of August. On August 1st, it plunged from a monthly high of 150.92 Yen to around 147.50 Yen, and has been fluctuating at low levels since then. Another significant drop occurred on August 22nd, showing an overall long-tailed downward trend in an L shape.
