The US Department of Transportation on Friday canceled $679 million in federal funding that was originally intended to support 12 offshore wind energy projects in the United States. US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffey said in a statement, "Wasteful wind energy projects are taking resources away that could have been used to revitalize the American maritime industry."
