13 rivers in Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu, Liaoning, Jilin and other places have experienced floods exceeding the warning levels.
According to the Ministry of Water Resources, from 8:00 on August 28 to 8:00 on August 29, heavy to torrential rain fell in northern and southern parts of Sichuan, eastern Liaoning, southeast Jilin, northwest Yunnan, southern Guangxi, and the Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong. Local areas in Chengdu, Aba, Deyang, and Mianyang in Sichuan, as well as Zhanjiang in Guangdong, experienced heavy torrential rain. Thirteen rivers in Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu, Liaoning, and Jilin have experienced flooding beyond the warning level. Due to the rainfall, the Shili River, a tributary of the Lancang River in Yunnan, the Baimo River and Nanhe River, tributaries of the Minjiang River in Sichuan, the Denahequ tributary of the Yellow River in the upper reaches of the Black River, the Bailong River, a tributary of the Jialing River in Gansu, the Taohe tributary of the upper reaches of the Yellow River, the Chaibai tributary of the Liao River in Liaoning, the Naerhong River and Zhuzi River, tributaries of the Jilin section of the Songhua River, and the Wujihong River and Hemahu River, tributaries of the Huifa River in Jilin, have all experienced flooding beyond the warning level, with the largest exceeding the warning level by 0.70 meters. Most rivers have now peaked and are receding.
