Our country has completed the adjustment of 20% of the academic disciplines in universities.

At a press briefing held by the Ministry of Education on August 28, it was announced that the goals outlined in the "Adjustment and Optimization Reform Plan for the Setting of Disciplines and Majors in Higher Education" issued in 2023 have been achieved as scheduled. In the past two years, a total of 1064 doctoral programs and 2258 master's programs have been established in universities nationwide, while 27 doctoral programs and 285 master's programs have been revoked. Additionally, 3715 undergraduate programs have been added, while 6638 programs have been canceled or suspended. In vocational education, over 12,000 new programs have been introduced, while more than 8200 programs have been discontinued.
