The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) announced on Thursday that new car sales in Europe increased by 5.9% to 1.09 million in July. Despite overall growth in European electric car sales, Tesla's market share has declined for the seventh consecutive month, falling behind its competitor BYD, which was included in ACEA's monthly sales data for the first time. Tesla's European sales in July decreased by 40.2%, with its market share dropping from 1.4% a year ago to 0.8%. BYD's sales soared by 225.3%, capturing a 1.2% market share.
