In July, Tesla's sales in Europe dropped by 40.2% year-on-year, while BYD's sales surged by 225.3%.

Data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association on Thursday showed that European car sales increased by 5.9% to 1.09 million units in July. Despite the overall increase in electric car sales in Europe, Tesla's market share has continued to decline for the seventh consecutive month, trailing behind its competitor BYD, which was included in the monthly sales data by ACEA for the first time. Tesla's European sales in July particularly dropped by 40.2%, with its market share decreasing from 1.4% a year ago to 0.8%. BYD's sales surged by 225.3%, capturing a 1.2% market share.
