The United Nations General Assembly adopts a resolution to establish a new global governance mechanism for artificial intelligence.

On the 26th, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on global governance of artificial intelligence, deciding to establish an "Independent International Scientific Group on Artificial Intelligence" and a mechanism for "Global Dialogue on AI Governance" to promote sustainable development and bridge the digital divide. According to the resolution passed by the UN that day on the mandate, establishment, and operation of the "Independent International Scientific Group on Artificial Intelligence" and "Global Dialogue on AI Governance", the United Nations will establish a group of 40 experts to assess the risks, opportunities, and impacts of artificial intelligence. In addition, the United Nations will conduct global dialogues, engage in policy discussions, and reach consensus to strengthen global governance of artificial intelligence, support sustainable development goals, and bridge the digital divide.
