Ministry of Transport: The port cargo throughput in July increased by 6.9% year-on-year.

According to the Wise Finance APP, on August 27, the Ministry of Transport held a press conference. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Transport, Li Ying, introduced that in July of this year, the economic operation of transportation continued to show positive signs of recovery, with stable growth in freight volume and inter-provincial personnel flow, rapid growth in port cargo throughput, and high-level investment in transportation fixed assets. In July, the port cargo throughput reached 1.54 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%, with a growth rate 2.2 percentage points higher than the previous month. In terms of structure, the throughput of domestic and foreign trade increased by 7.6% and 5.5% respectively year-on-year, with growth rates 1.5 and 3.6 percentage points higher than the previous month. The throughput of port containers reached 29.96 million standard boxes, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year. From January to July, the port cargo throughput reached 10.44 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%, and the container throughput reached 200 million standard boxes, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%.
