According to an executive order signed by President Trump earlier this month, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a pre-release version of the announcement imposing tariffs on Indian goods on the 25th of this month. The announcement is scheduled to be officially released and effective on the 27th. The announcement states that starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on the 27th, the U.S. will impose an additional 25% ad valorem duty on Indian goods imported for consumption or withdrawn from storage for consumption. Some Indian exporters have stated that many American customers have canceled orders due to the U.S. government's tariff measures.
