On the morning of August 26, the Jiangsu Provincial Government Information Office held a series of themed press conferences titled "Resolutely Shouldering the Responsibility of Being a Leading Economic Province". The second session focused on "Taking the Lead in Deepening Reform and High-level Opening Up". It was reported at the meeting that in the first half of this year, Jiangsu achieved a regional GDP of 6.7 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year, which was 0.4 percentage points higher than the national average, and the economic increment continued to rank first in the country. The total import and export volume of the province reached 2.81 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.2% year-on-year, reaching a historical high for the same period; actual use of foreign investment amounted to 11.54 billion US dollars, maintaining the first place in the country in terms of scale.
