Journalists learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that in the first seven months of this year, the overall operation of the telecommunications industry remained stable, with the scale of 5G and gigabit users steadily increasing and the foundation of the digital economy continuously solidifying. Data shows that in the first seven months, telecommunications business revenue and total volume remained stable, with telecommunications business revenue growing by 0.7% year-on-year and telecommunications business total volume growing by 8.9% year-on-year. The scale of gigabit users continues to expand, with a total of 686 million fixed broadband access users from the three basic telecommunications companies as of the end of July. Among them, gigabit broadband access users account for one-third of the total number of users. The construction of 5G networks is steadily progressing, with the total number of 5G base stations accounting for 36% of mobile base stations as of the end of July. The proportion of 5G users in the total number of mobile phone users exceeds six-tenths.
