Ministry of Commerce: will actively and steadily expand value-added telecommunications and other pilot projects, and continue to promote the opening up of related fields.

The State Council Information Office held a press conference at 3:00 pm on August 26th. Ling Ji, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Vice Representative for International Trade Negotiations, stated that we are firmly committed to expanding opening up to the outside world. Last year, we conducted pilot projects in some regions in areas such as value-added telecommunications, biotechnology, and wholly-owned hospitals, and a number of projects have already been implemented with positive progress in the pilots. Going forward, we will actively and prudently expand the pilots, continue to promote the opening up of relevant areas, effectively implement national treatment for foreign enterprises, and focus on addressing specific issues in market access, ensuring that foreign enterprises have both access and operation opportunities in the Chinese market.
