German car manufacturer Opel has abandoned its previously ambitious electrification strategy. The company will no longer only sell pure electric vehicles in Europe from 2028 as announced earlier, and the supply time for fuel vehicles will be significantly extended. Opel attributes the strategic adjustment to customer demand. Opel stated that if there is demand in the market, it will continue to adhere to the current "multi-energy" strategy, providing different power versions for each model, including pure electric, plug-in hybrid, mild hybrid, or fuel engine. "If market demand changes, this strategy will not be limited to the 2028 time point," the company said in response to multiple media reports.
