The WuYi section of the high-speed rail line along the Yangtze River has officially entered the trial operation phase.

At 8:46 on August 26, with the first test train 55402 departing from Yichang North Station, the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing high-speed railway officially entered the trial operation phase. The Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing high-speed railway is located in Hubei Province, starting from Wuhan City, passing through Tianmen City, Jingmen City, and ending in Yichang City. The main line is 313 kilometers long with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, including 88 newly built bridges and 25 tunnels, with bridges and tunnels accounting for 85%. After the completion of the Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing high-speed railway, the fastest travel time from Wuhan to Yichang by train will be reduced from 2 hours to about 1 hour.
