The reform of our country's energy system has entered the fast lane.
Today, the State Council Information Office held a series of theme press conferences on "High-quality completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan." Relevant officials from the National Energy Administration stated, "Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, China has continuously promoted market-oriented reforms in the energy sector, with energy system reforms entering the fast lane." The relevant officials of the National Energy Administration introduced that since the 14th Five-Year Plan, the price formation mechanism of energy in China has been accelerating its improvement. On the generation side, coal-fired power and new energy have fully entered the market. On the user side, apart from residential and agricultural electricity, pricing is completely market-oriented, making electricity truly a freely tradable commodity, with most electricity prices determined by market competition. The construction of the energy market system is accelerating. Wan Jinsong, Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration, stated that currently, power spot markets in seven regions including Shanxi, Guangdong, Shandong, Gansu, Xizang, Hubei, and Zhejiang, as well as inter-provincial power spot markets, have been established and are operational. The Southern regional power market has achieved continuous operation, creating the world's largest "power supermarket." Under the drive of reform, the ecological innovation of the energy industry has also accelerated. Various new energy storage technologies are blossoming, with international leading technological levels and a total capacity of about 95 million kilowatts, a growth of about 30 times compared to the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, accounting for over 40% of the global total installed capacity.
