The relevant person in charge of the National Energy Administration introduced that the total installed capacity of wind and solar power in China has increased from 530 million kilowatts in 2020 to 1.68 billion kilowatts by the end of July this year, with an average annual growth rate of 28%. Since the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the proportion of wind and solar power generation in China's total electricity consumption has increased from 9.7% in 2020 to 18.6% in 2024, with an average annual increase of more than 2 percentage points. The "desert wasteland" has become a new frontier for new energy construction in the 14th Five-Year Plan period, with an additional installed capacity of over 130 million kilowatts, turning the once barren land into an "energy oasis".
