Ministry of Ecology and Environment: National progress in the inclusion of industrial noise and solid waste into pollution discharge permit management is smooth.

On August 26, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment held its regular press conference for August. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Pei Xiaofei, stated that as of the first half of 2025, a total of 202,000 emission permits have been included in industrial noise management, with a completion rate of 69%; and 276,000 emission permits have been included in industrial solid waste management, with a completion rate of 96%. In order to ensure the smooth completion of this work by the end of this year, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will continue to track the progress of the work, strengthen coordination and provide guidance. At the same time, local governments are actively guiding polluting units in the application, renewal, changes, and reapplication of emission permits through policy promotion, joint review, on-site verification, and other means, to ensure proper information reporting.
