Ministry of Ecology and Environment: The national water ecological environment quality continues to improve.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment held a press conference this morning, and the officials introduced that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China will deepen the fight for clean water, and focus on the protection and construction of beautiful rivers and lakes, improving the quality of water ecosystem continuously. Jiang Huohua, director of the Water Ecosystem Division of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, stated that in the first half of this year, the proportion of excellent water quality in national surface water reached 89.0%, up 0.2 percentage points year-on-year, continuing to maintain stability and improvement. Over 90% of the black and odorous water bodies in county-level cities have been eliminated, and the effectiveness of black and odorous water body control in prefecture-level and above cities has been further consolidated and improved.
