Shanghai: Adjustment of Housing Purchase Restrictions Policy

Six departments in Shanghai jointly issued the "Notice on Optimizing and Adjusting the City's Real Estate Policy Measures." In order to better meet the improvement needs of residents, promote comfortable living and balanced work and residence, the notice explicitly further reduces the housing purchase restriction policy. Firstly, households that meet the conditions are not limited in the number of houses they can purchase outside the outer ring road. Residents who meet the city's housing purchase requirements, including households with Shanghai hukou, and non-Shanghai hukou households who have continuously paid social insurance or personal income tax in Shanghai for more than 1 year, can purchase an unlimited number of houses outside the outer ring road, including new commercial housing and second-hand housing. Secondly, single adults are subject to the same housing purchase restriction policy as households.
