According to the news from the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission of Hunan Province, recently, with the approval of the Hunan Provincial Committee, the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission of Hunan Province has launched an investigation into the serious violations of discipline and law by Duan Zhigang, former party member and deputy director of the Standing Committee of Hengyang Municipal People's Congress in Hunan Province. Duan Zhigang seriously violated political discipline, organizational discipline, and integrity discipline of the Party, constituted a serious violation of law and may be involved in bribery crimes. He did not rectify his behavior after the 18th National Party Congress, and his actions were extremely harmful and serious, therefore, he should be seriously dealt with. According to relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China", the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China", and the "Administrative Regulations on Disciplinary Action against Public Officials of the People's Republic of China", after deliberation by the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Hunan Province and approval by the Hunan Provincial Committee, it was decided to expel Duan Zhigang from the Party, revoke his retirement benefits as prescribed, confiscate his ill-gotten gains from violating discipline and law, and transfer his suspected bribery crimes to the procuratorial organs for investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law, along with the assets involved.
