In seeking to strengthen its threat reduction efforts and fighter jet production, the US Department of Defense has awarded two contracts with a total value of up to $6.38 billion. Last Friday, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency awarded a $3.5 billion contract to multiple companies, including Amentum Services, Vertex Aerospace, Jacobs Government Services, Fluor Intercontinental, Black & Veatch Special Projects, and Parsons Government Services International. Also on last Friday, the Department of Defense awarded a modification to its existing contract to the Pratt & Whitney company, a subsidiary of RTX, worth up to $2.88 billion.
