Gurman: Apple's foldable screen iPhone planned to fully adopt eSIM and Touch ID instead of Face ID next year.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman revealed in today's latest "Power On" newsletter that Apple's upcoming foldable screen iPhone, codenamed V68, will feature four cameras and use Touch ID instead of Face ID. Gurman explained that these four cameras include an outer screen front camera, an inner screen front camera, and two rear cameras. Similar to the latest iPad Air, iPad mini, and entry-level iPad, this foldable screen iPhone is expected to integrate Touch ID on the power button, offering different advantages and disadvantages compared to the current Face ID. Gurman also stated that this model will be equipped with Apple's second-generation self-developed C2 baseband chip, supporting cellular networks, fully implementing the eSIM solution, and not having a physical SIM card slot. In terms of design, Gurman expects the foldable screen iPhone to adopt a book-like structure, displaying a large internal screen when unfolded. In terms of color options, Gurman mentioned that Apple is currently testing black and white versions.
