Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman mentioned in the latest "Power On" today that Apple is expected to release a new generation of AirPods Pro this year, with the core new feature being heart rate monitoring. When both earbuds are worn simultaneously and this feature is enabled, Apple will measure heart rate by shining its built-in LED optical sensor through the blood flow at a frequency of over 100 times per second. This feature can be linked with fitness apps to record workout data and sync it to the "Health" app on the iPhone.
