Guangdong Province's top official Zhang Yong has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Haikou Municipal Party Committee after transferring to another province.

On August 23, a meeting of leaders and cadres of Haikou City was held, announcing the personnel appointment and removal decisions of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee. The Hainan Provincial Party Committee decided that Comrade Zhang Yong was appointed as a member, standing committee member, and deputy secretary of the Haikou Municipal Party Committee, and dismissed Comrade Ding Hui from the positions of deputy secretary, standing committee member, and member of the Haikou Municipal Party Committee, with another appointment. Zhang Yong has a long history of serving in Guangdong, and has previously served as a standing committee member and deputy mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, secretary and director of the Party Group of the Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone Management Committee, a standing committee member and executive deputy mayor of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, and secretary of the Party Group and deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Prior to this adjustment, he served as the secretary of the Party Group and director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
