Comprehensive performance internationally leading high-temperature lithium-lead comprehensive experimental platform put into operation in Sichuan
It was learned from the Southwest Institute of Physical Research of Nuclear Industry that the high-temperature lithium-lead comprehensive experimental platform developed by the institute has recently been fully completed and put into operation. The platform has a magnetic field strength of 4T, a Hartmann number of the order of 10, covering for the first time the typical operating parameter range of fusion reactor core. It is a key device for research on the application of liquid metal in fusion reactors, with leading international comprehensive performance. It can also simultaneously carry out verification of liquid blanket/first wall magnetohydrodynamic effects and in-situ mechanical performance testing in the flowing lithium-lead environment, providing key data support for the future construction of fusion reactors.
