According to the meteorological department of Hainan Province, this year's 13th typhoon "Swordfish" has intensified from a tropical storm to a severe tropical storm at 17:00 on the 23rd. At 17:00, its center was located at 17.6 degrees north latitude and 114.7 degrees east longitude, which is about 550 kilometers east of Sanya, Hainan Province, in the central waters of the South China Sea. The maximum wind force near the center is level 10, and the minimum central pressure is 985 hPa, with a wind radius of 150-220 kilometers at level 7. It is expected that "Swordfish" will continue to move in a westward direction at a speed of around 25 kilometers per hour, rapidly intensifying in strength, gradually approaching the southern coast of Hainan Island, and will land in Sanya, Hainan Island in the afternoon or evening of the 24th, then heading towards the central and northern coast of Vietnam. Under its influence, there will be severe wind and rain in the eastern and southern waters of Hainan Island, the waters near the Xisha and Zhongsha Islands on the 24th and 25th, and strong wind and rain in other waters. From the 24th to the 25th, the southeastern half of Hainan Island will experience heavy rain to heavy rain, locally extremely heavy rain, and the northwestern half will experience heavy to heavy rain.
