The National Oceanic Forecasting Station has issued orange warnings for waves and blue warnings for storm surges.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, due to the impact of Typhoon "Swordfish", the National Marine Forecasting Center will upgrade the wave warning level to orange this afternoon, and continue to issue a blue alert for storm surge. It is expected that from the night of August 23 to the afternoon of August 24, there will be waves of 4 to 7 meters in the northern part of the South China Sea, and waves of 3 to 5.5 meters in the eastern and southern nearshore areas of Hainan Island. There will be storm surge of 50 to 120 centimeters from Yangjiang, Guangdong to the east coast of Leizhou Peninsula, and storm surge of 40 to 100 centimeters in the northern, eastern, and southern coastal areas of Hainan Island. Ships operating in the above sea areas are advised to pay attention to safety, and relevant coastal units are advised to take early precautions against waves and surge.
