Chinese Academy of Engineering Academician Zhang Hongke: Intelligent calculation fusion network is a new type of Internet.
According to the People's Posts and Telecommunications News, the 2025 China Computing Power Conference will be held in Datong City, Shanxi Province from August 22nd to 24th. Zhang Hongke, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor at Beijing Jiaotong University, and director of the National Engineering Research Center for Mobile Special Networks, attended the main forum held on the morning of August 23 and delivered a keynote speech titled "Research and Thoughts on Intelligent Computing Fusion Networks." Zhang Hongke pointed out that the intelligent computing fusion network is the first major basic research project in the field of networks established by the National Natural Science Foundation since its establishment. From a popular science perspective, it is a new type of Internet. As we all know, early computer networks were used in fixed wired environments, and after 4G, wireless access network evolved into the Internet. 5G and 4G are essentially wireless access internets. Existing network communications are unable to meet the real-time, reliable, and secure requirements of some areas, and new network communication technologies are needed to support this. This requires research targeting national and international strategic development trends.
