China Automobile Dealers Association: The narrow definition of retail sales of passenger vehicles in August is estimated to be 1.94 million units, with new energy vehicles estimated to be 1.1 million units.

The latest manufacturer survey data shows that the top manufacturers, which account for nearly 80% of the total market retail volume, have set a retail target for this month that is about 5% higher compared to the previous month and slightly higher compared to the same period last year. Based on comprehensive estimates, the narrow passenger car retail total market for this month is expected to be around 1.94 million vehicles, an increase of 6.2% compared to the previous month and a 2.0% increase compared to the same period last year. Among them, new energy vehicle retail sales could reach around 1.1 million, with a penetration rate expected to reach a new high of 56.7%.
