Data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in the United States shows that as of the week ending August 19, speculators reduced their net short positions in Chicago Mercantile Exchange US Treasury futures by 9,751 contracts to 51,043 contracts; net short positions in US Ultra-long Treasury futures increased by 33,030 contracts to 242,162 contracts; net short positions in US 2-year Treasury futures decreased by 55,058 contracts to 1,324,539 contracts; and net short positions in US 10-year Treasury futures increased by 3,293 contracts to 945,516 contracts.
