According to data from the US Treasury Department, investment funds bought $16.785 billion worth of 30-year bonds maturing on August 15, 2055 in the most recent two-week reporting period, compared to the previous month's purchase of $16.557 billion. Investment funds also bought $40.691 billion worth of 3-year Treasury bonds maturing on August 15, 2028, down from the previous month's purchase of $42.173 billion.
