European natural gas traders return to buying mode
European natural gas futures recorded an 8% increase this week, reversing course after hitting a one-year low. Analysts point out that traders are now back in a buying mode. The hope of restarting energy supplies from Russia remains bleak, and as Norwegian gas fields enter maintenance season, supply will become increasingly tight. This has forced Europe to increase prices before liquefied natural gas shipments are snatched up by Asia.
