On August 22nd local time, sources from the security department of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq said that in the early hours of the day, during an arrest operation against the former co-chairman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the leader of the Kurdistan People's Front Party, Lahur Sheikh Jangi, by the security forces in Sulaymaniyah province, clashes occurred with local armed groups. The conflict resulted in at least 3 deaths and 19 injuries. Currently, Jangi and his brothers have been arrested, and the armed members accompanying them have surrendered to the security forces at the hotel where Jangi was located.
