Zhejiang Ningbo: Pork prices drop by 30%

Recently, reporters learned from the Zhejiang Ningbo wholesale market for agricultural products, meat and poultry, and eggs that the wholesale price of fresh chilled pork is currently stable at 9.3 yuan per jin, a year-on-year decrease of 30.98%, with some pork products prices reaching the lowest levels in nearly three years. At the same time, the average daily sales volume in the wholesale market is 1265.1 heads, an increase of about 20% compared to the same period last year. Industry insiders suggest that pork prices have been on a downward trend since February this year. The main factor for the decrease in pork prices at the moment appears to be oversupply. In order to promote the stable operation of the live pig market, the National Development and Reform Commission will cooperate with relevant departments to carry out the central reserve of frozen pork in the near future.
