According to the Securities Times Finance APP, on August 22, the head of the Consumer Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce talked about the situation of China's consumption market in July 2025. In July, the overall development trend of China's consumption market was stable. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the total retail sales of consumer goods that month was 3.88 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.7% year-on-year, which was 1 percentage point higher than the same period last year. From January to July, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 28.42 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year, with the retail sales of services increasing by 5.2% compared to the same period last year, and the combined retail sales of goods and services increasing by around 5%.
