Musk once tried to invite Zuckerberg to participate in the acquisition of OpenAI.

According to court documents filed by OpenAI, Musk attempted to convince Zuckerberg to participate in his informal acquisition offer for OpenAI earlier this year. OpenAI stated that Musk listed Zuckerberg as one of the individuals he had discussed possibly providing funding for the acquisition of OpenAI. However, Zuckerberg and Meta did not sign a letter of intent and did not participate in the acquisition offer; OpenAI's board officially rejected Musk's acquisition offer in February.
