After Japan's inflation data was released, the yen rose slightly against the US dollar.

The Japanese yen edged slightly higher against the US dollar, as previously released data indicated that despite a slowdown in price growth, Japan's consumer inflation remains significantly above the Bank of Japan's target. The yen rose slightly against the US dollar to 148.31, after briefly falling to 148.45 earlier.
