Commercialization drives demand increase, the roadmap for eVTOL power batteries is becoming clearer.

With the dense landing of eVTOL orders, its commercialization process is accelerating. At the same time, the demand for GWh level batteries is gradually emerging. Recently, many battery manufacturers such as State Power New Energy, Zhongchuangxin Hang, and Xinchao Energy have reached cooperation agreements with eVTOL manufacturers, jointly focusing on overcoming the key challenges of eVTOL power batteries in high energy density, safety, fast charging performance, and other aspects. Experts believe that faced with the more stringent requirements of aviation-grade batteries, solid-state batteries, with their high energy density and high safety characteristics, have great application potential and may become the core choice for eVTOL manufacturers. However, solid-state batteries still have many challenges to overcome in terms of technology, supply chain, and cost, and their commercialization path is still long. In this context, the hybrid route has become a focus of attention for some manufacturers. It is expected that for a considerable period of time in the future, the hybrid route will have a place in the eVTOL field.
