Agne Stengeryte and Mark Capleton of Bank of America stated in their report that the Bank of England may continue with its current plan of balanced sales of government bonds across different maturities. The Bank of England is expected to announce its plans for government bond sales or quantitative tightening arrangements starting in October at its meeting on September 18. The two strategists pointed out that the Bank of England has indicated that the impact of quantitative tightening on 10-year and 30-year government bonds is fairly equal. Therefore, a policy of deviating from evenly reducing government bond holdings across different maturities "remains unlikely". Bank of America predicts that the Bank of England will announce a slowing down of the pace of quantitative tightening.
