According to the intelligence financial APP, a survey shows that nearly two-thirds of economists believe that the Bank of Japan will raise its key interest rate by at least 25 basis points later this year, up from less than half just a month ago. Despite the recent weakness in the US job market prompting expectations of a rate cut by the Federal Reserve next month, 70% of analysts participating in the survey said that this factor alone would not slow down the Bank of Japan's further tightening of monetary policy. Financial markets still anticipate that the Bank of Japan will raise interest rates by another 25 basis points by the end of the year.
