Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Hua Yongqian stated at a press conference that since the beginning of this year, the risks and challenges facing international economic and trade development have increased significantly. Despite this complex backdrop, China's foreign trade has maintained a steady improving trend, with the cumulative import and export growth rate increasing month by month. In the first seven months, there has been a 3.5% growth, achieving both volume and quality improvements, which is not easy. Currently, global economic and trade development still faces great uncertainty. Many international organizations have pointed out that tariff barriers have significantly increased global trade costs, seriously affecting the efficiency and stability of the global production and supply chain. Global trade still faces downward risks. We will continue to adhere to expanding high-level opening-up to the outside world, steadfastly carrying out our own affairs, and responding to various uncertainties with the certainty of high-quality development.
