Since August, the accelerated rise of A-shares is attracting more foreign capital to enter the market. According to Choice data, as of August 18, the total holdings of Chinese stocks by Korean investors had increased from 190.83 billion RMB at the end of 2024 to 244.75 billion RMB, a growth of nearly 30%. In terms of specific holdings, Korean investors are particularly keen on buying Hong Kong stocks. Choice data shows that leading companies in the technology and emerging industries, such as Xiaomi Group, Tencent Holdings, BYD Company, and Alibaba, have become the main targets for increased holdings. As of August 18, Korean investors' holdings in Xiaomi Group and Tencent Holdings both exceeded 18 billion RMB. In addition, Korean investors also held 4.74 billion RMB worth of shares in Pinduoduo.
