Top 20 global cargo airports announced, three major airports in the Greater Bay Area listed. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport ranks 19th globally.
Recently, the International Airport Council released the 2024 ranking of the top 20 global freight airports, with the three major airports in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, making the list. Hong Kong International Airport, with a cargo volume of 4.94 million tons, has maintained its position as the world's top airport for 14 consecutive years. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport ranks 9th globally, while Shenzhen Baoan International Airport has risen to 19th in the world. As the "hardware capital of China" and the technological innovation hub of the Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen is home to leading technology and manufacturing companies such as Huawei, DJI, ZTE, BYD, and Honor. With strong growth in high value-added and high-efficiency industries such as integrated circuits, smart terminals, new energy vehicles, drones, and biopharmaceuticals, the demand for air freight continues to rise.
